TECHNICAL BUSINESS ANALYST Position Title: Technical Business Analyst Department: Technology Services Report to: Director of Project Management Summary: Business analyst must be able to gain a clear understanding of stakeholder strategy and provide hands-on guidance best practices for leveraging database systems and business processes. The business analyst must be ready to address a diverse group of inside and outside personnel and relay information between solution architects, developers, project managers, and internal business users in easily understood terms for all groups. The business analyst must have a strong motivational force throughout the life cycle of any project, acting as an advocate for the user and a champion for the software and/or business process. Education: • A bachelor’s degree in business, technical or related field. Requirements: • A minimum of 2 years of experience in business analysis or a related field. • Non-profit or fundraising experience. • Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills. • The ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions. • Advanced technical skills. • Excellent communication and writing skills. • Fundamental analytical and conceptual thinking skills. • Experience creating detailed reports and giving presentations. • Competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook. • A track record of following through on commitments. • Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills. • Experience leading and developing top-performing teams. • A history of leading and supporting successful projects. Responsibilities: • Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ; maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Cross. • Spearhead the change management process prior to project kick-off to prove viability of a project by doing ROI analysis, reporting, charting, gap analysis, etc. • Support in-person or remote discovery sessions to gather user requirements, user stories, and business needs. • Document the user’s business requirements to capture the user’s strategic direction, so that solutions may be designed to leverage database or business process baseline functionality, configuration, and enhancements. • Leverage the database or business process to help users configure the application or process to optimize their business processes. • Identify and document information technology alternatives and integration needs where appropriate. • Display strong management communication skills by acting as a bridge between project team and technical team by relaying technical information between all interested parties in a language that is understandable by all parties. • Assist staff with user acceptance testing, classroom and/or consultative training, SOP writing, and ongoing client needs assessments and business process reviews. • Leverage product knowledge to assist with configuration feasibility analysis during implementation projects. • Act as a liaison between internal and external parties as needed to advocate for new baseline features, submit bugs, and effectively transition projects maintenance.
