Senior Underwriter

Are you an experienced Underwriter with at least 5 years experience in Mortgage or Energy Underwriting?  If so, this opportunity may be for you. 

Our West Coast client is seeking a Sr. Underwriter for a Full-time opportunity.  Ideal candidate will be in the Pleasant Grove UT area, but our client is open to remote candidate based on experience level.  Must be available for West Coast hours as well.

Job description

The Underwriter will work with a team of specialists to ensure solar loan conditions are met. This position will review all documents submitted to successfully meet our underwriting standards.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for receiving, reviewing, evaluating and preparing consumer solar loan applications.
• Responsible to review and analyze income, credit reports, debt ratios, and other criteria to assure the quality of loans prior to approval.
• Partner and proactively follow up with affiliate banks, branch personnel and solar companies to communicate lending decisions and rationale.
• Work closely with the finance department of our solar partners and provide training where necessary.
• Responsible and accountable for risk by elevating concerns and following policies and procedures.
• Keep abreast of federal and state laws and regulations relating to consumer lending.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years underwriting experience required.
• Experience with consumer lending, credit reports and documentation review.
• Knowledge of consumer credit, credit reports, lending and underwriting concepts, practices and procedures.
• Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations relating to consumer lending.
• Must have good customer relations and communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to underwrite a high volume of loan applications maintaining accuracy and consistency.
• Ability to handle multiple priorities and responsibilities while maintaining quality results.
• Adapts to change in a fast paced, growing environment.
• Strong attention to detail and well organized.
• Working knowledge of a various related software applications, including Microsoft Office products and Salesforce.
• Positive attitude and ability to work well with others in a close team environment.

Salary will be within market range and DOE.
