Regional Learning Manager North America

Summary: Supports the executing the learning and development strategy in North America so as to enhance the capability of employees, create a culture of learning and enable individual growth & achievement of business strategy

  • Assist in establishing/maintaining/revising curriculum and procedures for compliance to cGMPs. Provide “Onboarding” regarding cGMP compliance for “new hires” and training for the site(s). This position is necessary for compliance to 21 CFR Part 211 FDA requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

L&D Strategy

  • Provides inputs to create strategy to enhance the learning maturity of the business as a lever to achieve business goals
  • Executes actions emerging out of learning maturity model analysis
  • Contributes toward the designing and planning of Group-level learning initiatives by bringing in regional insights in order to make them relevant for NA
  • Drives the Group-level learning agenda within the region in partnership with Global Business Learning Lead; BCmoE, central Learning University (PLU) team with the objective of creating a learning ecosystem that drives business results and promotes individual excellence
  • Conducts the annual learning need identification process for NA sites, creates and publishes the annual learning calendars for the sites/region that are linked to business priorities
  • Drives the uptake of the Leadership Series (PLS) flagship programs within NA with effective contextualization and communication
  • Acts as a bridge between PLS learners and central PLU team for completion of flagship offerings
  • Facilitates ILT workshops for junior management employees
  • Executes functional academies for learners of NA ensuring end-to-end completion of the learning
  • Supports internal SMEs to create functional content for ILT as well as leverage PLU VC to upload, track usage, and share reports with stakeholders
  • Develops customized learning programs and workshop content for NA sites in collaboration with functional SMEs / Global Business Learning Lead.
  • Facilitates ILT workshops for STEP programs for junior management employees
  • Establishes and executes induction process for new hires in line with Group Induction guidelines and perform “Onboarding” as necessary
  • Ensures timely completion of mandatory courses for new hires of NA sites
  • Develops and executes a robust plan to actively engage with learners and promote self-driven learning through the PLU Virtual Campus in the region
  • Leverages the available learning technology (PLU Virtual Campus) to drive the business learning agenda in the region
  • Assesses, identifies and executes actions to improve L&D maturity for NA sites
  • Tracks, evaluates and reports key learning metrics and release monthly L&D dashboard to Site Leaders of NA sites highlighting impact of L&D interventions and YOY improvement on identified learning metrics
  • Keeps current on new developments and best-in-class practices with L&D and proposes/implements leading practices to improve overall effectiveness of the function

Compliance & cGMP Trainings (for Bethlehem site)

  • Establishes/maintains/revises learning curriculums in line with cGMP guidelines for Bethlehem site.
  • Organizes and facilitates cGMP training programs for the site related to manufacturing, processing, packaging, testing, warehousing, and distribution of product
  • Completes Human Resources related training (age/gender discrimination affirmative action, harassment training)
  • Establishes/maintains/revises training tools such as Ensure and Compliance Wire used for recording and reporting of compliance and cGMP trainings

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor degree in relevant scientific (quality assurance/technical) or social sciences (psychology/HR) field with 8+ years’ experience
  • Strong understanding of pharmaceutical cGMP, industry standards, and regulations
  • Knowledge of instructional design and experience in developing learning interventions and functional and behavioral learning content to address business priorities
  • Experience in facilitating learning interventions for junior employees
  • Experience of using computer systems training tools such as Compliance Wire, Ensure, etc. and learning technology (LMS)
  • Efficient with MSOffice applications (word, excel, power point)
