Description: Production Manager

 

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:30AM-5:00PM, with occasional or frequent need to work Saturday morning shifts depending on production workload

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Delegates assignments to production workers on a daily basis.
  • Manages personnel related matters of production workers as needed.
  • Reviews and signs off on work orders.
  • Moves raw material to machines as dictated by production needs by lifting and operating a hand truck.
  • Directs and coordinates department activities.
  • Applies knowledge of production methods and procedures, capabilities of machines, and equipment and product technology.
  • Ensures production and quality control standards are met.
  • Plans and directs production activities.
  • Coordinates production activities to obtain optimum production and utilization of staffing, machines, and materials.
  • Assists with developing, implementing, operating methods, and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and improve product quality.
  • Approves and signs off jobs for printing
  • Revises production schedules and priorities to best meet customer needs.
  • Assists with developing and maintaining and effective organization through the selection, training, motivation, termination, and review of employees.
  • Ensures employees are following established company policies and procedures.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Directly supervises employees in the Production Department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. * Lift and/or move up to 50lbs at times * Regularly stand for long periods of time while reaching with hands and arms * Specific abilities include, focus, depth perception and ability to identify colors * Familiar with Pantone colors * Ability to read, write and comprehend complex written or oral instructions, short correspondence, and memos, while performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to warm or cold weather. The employee maybe exposed to chemicals which requires safety equipment such as a face mask and apron to be worn. The noise level in the work environment is often loud.

 

Language Ability:

Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

 

Math Ability:

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

 

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

 

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or equivalent combination of education and experience. Computer experience a must.
