- Responsible for first article, in-process and final inspection of products to ensure compliance with customer specifications.
- Approves acceptable products, communicating required adjustments (or recommending rejection or rework) to QA / Manufacturing manager.
- Accumulate data through measurement, organize and record the data gathered on specific quality issues.
- Assist with the development and implementation of quality inspection plans and sample schedules.
- Assist in the development and implementation of continuous improvement programs, and to assist in the resolution of customer problems.
- Discharge other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the QA Manager.

Essential Duties: What has to be done to achieve the desired results of the job.
|
- · Perform capability studies and first article inspections on new parts, production set-up, and in-process dimensional inspections & analysis on production parts to assure compliance with internal and customer requirements. Assist with receiving inspection.
- · Perform statistical process control studies in conformance with internal and customer procedures and requirements.
- · Use precision mechanical and electronic inspection equipment to measure and record dimensional readings.
- · Catalog and retain production samples, document and maintain records of inspection results in a timely and efficient manner.
- · Maintain and archive all production records.
- · Monitor scrap and rejection logs, and complete non-conforming notices and tags.
- · Assist in the preparation and implementation of quality inspection plans and sampling schedules as necessary.
- · Assist in coordinating functions of the QA Department with production and shipping.
- · Assist in the investigation of customer/supplier rejections.
- · Ensure that QA equipment and facilities are protected and maintained in good working order.
- · Utilize good housekeeping practices to maintain a clean & safe work area to minimize the risk of personal injury, equipment damage, or the manufacture of a non-conforming product.

Minimum Requirements: What is required to perform the Essential Duties?
|
- · Experience in a precision machine shop or tool & die environment.
- · High School Diploma or equivalent.
- · Good mathematical and analytical skills.
- · Ability to read and understand complex blueprints, specifications, and Geometric Tolerancing and Dimensioning
- · Knowledge of Statistical Process Control and the ability to use and understand different control charts.
- · Decision-making ability coupled with the ability to work on one’s own initiative and with minimum supervision. Good interpersonal skills and organizational skills with an excellent attention to detail.
- · Experience in quality practices. Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as technical procedures, safety rules, operating & maintenance instructions & procedure manuals.
- · Experience in operation of instrumentation and equipment used for inspection.
- · The position is required only as the workload dictates, must be able and willing to operate a press during slow periods and switch back and forth as needed.
- · Be available for scheduled work: normal workday of 8 – 10 hours, more or less hours as necessary, night shift and weekend work are possible.
· Ability to keep an organized, neat, and clean work environment.
