POSITION TITLE Assistant Plant Manager
EXEMPT OR NON-EXEMPT Exempt
TIME TYPE: Full Time
LOCATION: Vineland, NJ
REPORTS TO: Plant Manager
DIRECT REPORTS Line Leaders; Line Workers; Shift Managers
RESPONSABILITIES
- Assist Plant Manager with supervision of all production activities of the Plant
- Coordinate with Plant Manager the performance of the plant and the attainment of its production volumes and quality
- Assist Plant Manager with leading the start-up operations of the new Vineland production plant and take the lead as needed in absence of Plant Manager
- Supervise and manage all activities within the production plant, including maintenance services and logistics processes
- Coordinate the adherence to Company’s quality standard with both the Plant Manager and Quality Manager while guaranteeing compliance of all laws and regulations pertaing to the plant, including safety and product health regulations.
- Coordinate and assist the Plant Manager and HR withpersonnel organizational structure, duties and responsabilities
- Assist Plant Manager with hiring, coaching & counseling, and termination of plant workers in collaboration with Human Resources
- Directly manage Shift Managers, Line Leads and Line Workers
BASIC KNOWLEDGE
- Ability to operate the following:
- Industrial slicing machines
- Thermoforming machines
- Label machines
- Metal detector machine
- Knowledge with meat grinding, fermenting and drying room
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School diploma, GED equivalency or knowledge within the food industry
- One (1) to three (3) years’ experience managing a food production plant
- Charcuterie production management preferred, but not required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and advanced knowledge of Excel
- Experience with people management (coaching, counseling and training)
- Strong work ethics and organizational skills
